Our Company
Built Around the Learner,
Not Around the Sale
Pichai Studies was formed by educators who believed that mid-life financial learning deserved its own pace, its own language, and its own level of care.
← Back to HomeHow Pichai Studies Began
Pichai Studies grew out of a frustration that the founding team heard repeatedly in their work as financial educators: learners in their forties and beyond were being served materials designed for younger adults starting careers, not for people managing accumulated assets, ageing parents, and adult children simultaneously.
The school opened its first cohort in Bangkok in 2017 with a single six-week programme on household financial organisation. Early participants responded not just to the content but to the format — small groups, printed materials, and a teaching approach that assumed intelligence and respected lived experience. Word spread through personal recommendation, and within two years, the team had added an intermediate retirement planning course.
Today, Pichai Studies offers three structured learning paths covering household finances, retirement preparation, and estate organisation. Each course is reviewed annually against changes in Thai financial regulation and tax structure. The school is based in Bangkok's Din Daeng district and keeps cohort sizes deliberately small so that the quality of learning conversations does not diminish.
Our Mission and Values
Our central purpose is to help people feel more settled about their financial circumstances — not through simplified reassurance, but through genuine understanding. We hold that financial knowledge, approached at the right pace, can reduce anxiety and improve the quality of decisions people make for themselves and their families.
Intellectual honesty
We say what we know, acknowledge what we don't, and never present certainty where there is none.
Respect for autonomy
Our instructors inform and equip; they do not push participants toward any particular financial decision.
Local context, always
Every session is anchored in Thai law, Thai financial products, and the real situations Thai families face.
Discretion and trust
Financial conversations carry emotional weight. Our learning environment is designed with this in mind at every level.
The People Behind the Courses
A small, experienced team with backgrounds in finance, education, and Thai law.
Kanya Phongphan
Founding Director & Lead Educator
Kanya spent fourteen years in personal banking before moving into education. She holds a postgraduate qualification in financial planning from Chulalongkorn University and leads the Foundation and Intermediate courses.
Naret Wattanakul
Estate Law Specialist
Naret practised as a notarial services attorney in Bangkok for over a decade before joining Pichai Studies. He leads the estate and wealth planning seminar and conducts the individual attorney consultations for enrolled participants.
Supatra Pliansri
Family Communication Specialist
Supatra brings a background in family mediation and counselling psychology. She facilitates the communication sessions in the Senior Seminar, helping participants prepare adult family members for estate-related conversations that carry emotional complexity.
Standards We Hold Ourselves To
Financial education becomes unreliable when it isn't accountable. These are the specific commitments that shape how every Pichai Studies course is designed and delivered.
Annual Curriculum Review
Course materials are reviewed and updated every year to reflect changes in Thai tax law, banking regulations, and provident fund structures.
Qualified Instructors Only
All instructors hold relevant professional qualifications and have a minimum of eight years' practical experience in their field before joining the teaching team.
Learner Privacy Protocols
Personal worksheets, planning documents, and individual consultation notes are never shared between participants or retained beyond the course period without explicit consent.
No Conflict of Interest
Pichai Studies does not accept referral fees or commissions from financial institutions, insurance companies, or legal service providers. Our instructors have no incentive to direct participants toward any particular product.
Post-Course Feedback Review
Every cohort completes an anonymous review. Results are read by the founding director and used directly in planning the following cohort.
Clear Enrolment Terms
Course fees, cancellation conditions, and participant expectations are set out plainly before any enrolment is finalised. There are no hidden charges or automatic renewals.
Financial Education Designed for Thai Households at Mid-Life
The financial challenges that arrive in your forties, fifties, and sixties are meaningfully different from those faced earlier in a working life. Pension funds and provident funds become active concerns rather than distant abstractions. Insurance policies that were set up years ago may no longer reflect current family circumstances. Inheritance conversations — with ageing parents, or as a parent yourself — require both legal literacy and communication skill.
Pichai Studies addresses these challenges through structured, mentor-led courses that treat each participant as an adult with a real history and real responsibilities. Our Bangkok campus serves learners from across Thailand, and our online sessions allow participation from any location. The teaching language is English, with Thai-language support throughout for terminology and documentation.
